HOW LONG IS THE TYPICAL SESSION?
Here again, each Hypnotherapist does things a little differently from the next one, however, you can usually count on a typical session to last at least one hour. Since many hypnotherapists charge by the hour make sure you know up front if you are being charged by the hour or by the session. If you are being charged by the hour, have an understanding of what happens if your hour is up and you are right in the middle of something important; do you continue into the next hour or do you hold that though until next week.

DOES INSURANCE COVER HYPNOTHERAPY?
Possibly, depending on who you go to. If a Hypnotherapist is licensed as another type of psychotherapist more
often than not they will accept insurance. If the hypnotherapist is registered and not licensed then that person
most likely must have a licensed supervisor before an insurance company will accept a claim. A few self insured companies will accept a claim from an unlicensed person and some insurance companies actually have complimentary therapist riders. The therapist will put a code number on the insurance claim form which indicates what the client came in for and should have the client sign a disclosure statement, indicating that the client will be discussed by name with the supervisor for insurance billing and possible advice as well. If the practioner does not have the client sign a disclosure, then (s)he is breaking the law by breeching client confidentiality and discussing that person with the supervisor.
